COLUMBIA CLUB MOVES

Columbia Club Moves: The Columbia Club of New York has moved to 15 West 43rd Street, which is also home to The Princeton Club of New York.  The new location features an athletic facility, 49 overnight rooms, a member’s lounge, a 10,000-volume library, 10 meeting rooms, and two restaurants.

The alliance with The Princeton Club is a collaboration between the Columbia Club of New York, The Columbia University Club Foundation, and Columbia University, according to Harmon D. Smith (CC ‘56), president of the Columbia Club of New York.  The foundation and the University are providing financial support to facilitate and attract new members.

According to James Nevius, Director of the Columbia Club of New York, the location of the Club is valued for its convenience to midtown attractions and transportation.  The setting makes the club an ideal place to take families, entertain business clients, or use as an office away from home while in Manhattan.  Another attractive feature of this Club is its athletic facility, which includes two squash courts and state-of-the-art exercise equipment.

The new location also offers greater opportunities for networking with Columbia alumni in New York. Nevius says that alumni can expect an expanded array of programs and events for members.  Club members and guests can meet in the casual Bar and Grill Dining Room or the more formal Woodrow Wilson Dining Room.  Members can also take advantage of reciprocal agreements with over 60 clubs throughout the world.

For more information about club membership and obtaining an application, call James Nevius at (212) 719-0380 or send e-mail to: columbiaclubofny@juno.com.
